Culver City has an annual car show open to the public and this year we decided to have our own little car show in the TD parking lot. It was a good turnout. We had about 12 cars that our employees brought, we bbq'd and just had a good time enjoying the rest of the car show. :)

Easter Basket Drive
We recently held an Easter Basket Drive for underprivileged children through Olive Crest (the same organization we use to adopt families for Christmas). We filled almost 30 Easter baskets altogether!
Covenant House Sleep Out
Last Friday, Topson employees participated in a Sleep Out to raise awareness for Covenant House and homeless youth. The employees raised almost $5k, and Topson has agreed to generously match the remaining balance for a total of $10k donated from the company.

Special Olympic World Games Charity Event
Topson Downs recently sponsored a table at the Special Olympic World Games Charity Event and we sent 10 of our members of the TGIM committee to attend. We are going to be involved in the Special Olympics World Games that are happening this summer in LA. This is supposed to be the biggest sporting event in LA since the ’84 Olympics! More to come on how we’ll get involved but we wanted to go to this event to learn more and figure out where we can volunteer as a company.

TOPSON DOWNS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE
The partners at Topson Downs accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge todayand will donate $5,000 towards the efforts of finding a cure for ALS!
The best part is that we have nominated ALL of our employees to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. They have 48 hours in which to execute their bucket dump and video record your event. Topson will be matching all donations from their employees dollar for dollar!

Team El Presidente vs Team El Secretario lead by Jerry in Joe’s absence. Team El Presidente once again proved victorious in this friendly game of softball winning 7-2. It was close all the way up until the last inning when Team El Presidente drove in 4 runs.

OPERATION GRATITUDE FUNDRAISER
Topson Downs bought supplies to send to our troops overseas through an organization called Operation Gratitude. We had a fundraiser and auctioned off a car to raise $4,000! That money was used to buy food/reusable water bottles/socks/toiletries/electronics/para cord bracelets for the troops.

Topson Downs today announced that it has purchased a majority share of the Rachel Roy brand. Under the terms of the agreement, Topson Downs, a privately-held apparel and manufacturing company, will form a partnership to develop, market and license the New York-based fashion brand Rachel Roy. Topson Downs will relaunch the Rachel Roy designer brand and expand upon the contemporary RACHEL Rachel Roy collection. In the agreement Ms. Roy will retain 100 percent creative control of her name.
Ms. Roy launched her eponymous luxury brand in spring of 2004. The debut collection featured a modern assortment of chic, ready-to-wear staples. Pieces such as the classic trench, perfect blouse and easy, day-to-night dresses were touchstones of a vision Ms. Roy built upon season after season. In 2009 Ms. Roy launched contemporary line RACHEL Rachel Roy in an exclusive partnership with the Impulse Division of Macy’s, which features apparel, shoes and jewelry that embody the same effortless point-of-view as her namesake line. Off the runway, Ms. Roy is a tastemaker in her own right, having topped international best dressed lists, as well as earning membership into the Council of Fashion Directors (CFDA) in 2007. Her work has also been recognized by the Accessories Council - in 2010 she won Best Brand Launch at its annual ACE Awards. Ms. Roy is a favorite designer of the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama as well as countless powerful women, such as Oprah Winfrey, Iman, Sharon Stone and Diane Sawyer. Denise Johnston has been named president of Rachel Roy and RACHEL Rachel Roy. Ms. Johnston will oversee all aspects of the lines, including growth and future licensing opportunities. She has over 25 years experience running iconic companies such as Liz Claiborne, Emma James, Jack Rogers and Gap Adult North America. Her extensive background in both wholesale and retail has been cultivated from early management positions at Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Dayton Hudson.
