FLINT, MICHIGAN

Topson Downs understands the water crisis that Flint, Michigan is experiencing.  We are donating the people of Flint, Michigan 200 cases of water to assist with their daily needs of the usage of fresh water.

We have purchased our water bottles from a water filtration company called Douglas Water Conditioning.  They have been filtering water in Michigan since 1968.

The 200 cases of water have been delivered to the local Fire House in Flint, Michigan where the bottles will distributed to the thousands of people who need fresh water.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, several Topson Employees volunteered at Covenant House.

Thanks to all who donated their time to help the homeless youth and community! Topson Downs also donated $10,000 to the institution which provides shelter, food, health services, and educational classes to youth who have been left homeless due to aging out of the foster care system, for being gay or lesbian, or for trying to escape drug- and alcohol-addicted parents.

RAINBOW DRESS UP DAY

We had another successful dress up day here at Topson with participants from Headquarters, The Warehouse, Elwood, and our Motor location.  We had so much fun getting creative with our Rainbow themed dress up day!

HAWAIIAN DRESS UP DAY

Today was another one of our monthly dress up days and today’s theme was Hawaiian! A few groups and individuals at HQ got in front of the company and showed us their best hula dances! We were all feeling the spirit of the islands today in each of our buildings. J Aloha!

BACK TO SCHOOL BACKPACK DRIVE

Team Topson just completed our back to school backpack drive. We filled over 90 backpacks with school supplies for underprivileged children around LA County from Kindergarten through High School! We also wrote notes of encouragement to the kids :)

CicLAvia

CicLAvia is an event held in Los Angeles where streets are closed to motor vehicles and open for the public to walk, bike, and skate through the open streets. Each CicLavia event is planned by the nonprofit organisation CicLAvia in partnership with the City of Los Angeles.[1] The event takes place on a given Sunday and is open for a predetermined set of hours. This started out as a once-a-year occurrence but later expanded to 3 times a year. In fact, plans to have CicLAvia once a month are in the works. While primarily intended for cyclists, many people can be seen skateboarding, running, or walking down the path.[2] Each street that is closed off is guarded by traffic officers who direct the cars to alternative routes through Los Angeles. On some streets the traffic lights are still in service, which means the bikers and pedestrians must abide by the traffic laws. LAPD Traffic Divisions and LADOT Parking Enforcement Traffic Officers are guarding each intersection to allow ultimate safety of the community during this event. CicLAvia brings together densely populated and diverse neighbourhoods through a bike route. The event now attracts over 100,000 participants and expands to connect even more neighbourhoods.

RED CROSS

Topson recently donated $25,000 to the Red Cross for relief efforts in the deadly Nepal earthquake that happed in April. One of the Red Cross reps, Patti Hartman, stopped by today to present a plaque commemorating our donation.

HEAL THE BAY BEACH CLEAN UP

This past Saturday we had about 30 Topson volunteers come help out with the Heal The Bay Clean Up at Will Rodgers State Beach.  There were over 400 volunteers all together and over 70 pounds of trash picked up.  All in all it was a great turnout!

CULVER CITY CAR SHOW

Culver City has an annual car show open to the public and this year we decided to have our own little car show in the TD parking lot.  It was a good turnout. We had about 12 cars that our employees brought, we bbq'd and just had a good time enjoying the rest of the car show. :)
