What is my role?

Responsible for designing and managing a junior’s apparel independently throughout development process to pre-production hand-over.

What do I do?

·         Actively participate in the conceptual development of specific accounts by retail needs with Sales and Lead.

·         Actively participate in the conceptual development of the Market line as needed, with Creative Director.

·         Create seasonal color palette and concepts according to calendar.

·         Provide direction for art development to Creative Director, understanding print/graphic design for appropriate direction.

·         Understands execution of garment, fabrication and technical design to fit various price points.

·         Assist Lead with researching and shopping the domestic/international markets in order to identify new trends, fabrics, techniques, etc.

·         Creates full collections and sketches of styles in development with Retailer and market needs in Illustrator.

·         Design for special projects.

·         Execute CAD requests and special projects.

·         Keeps a calendar with deadlines to ensure all needs are met for each retail need/market.

·         Lead fittings and provide comments.

·         Responsible for completion and handoff of tech info for pre-pro.

·         Partner with Production Team to maintain the level of integrity of garment from sample stage to final production with Lead.

·         Manage the production approvals with Licensing Brand Managers.

·         Responsible for fabric and trim direction / selection with Lead, working with PD Team.

What are the qualifications?

·         Preferably 5+ years previous experience designing junior’s apparel

·         College degree in Fashion Design or related field preferable

·         Strong presentation skills and computer sketching.

·         In-depth knowledge of silhouette, fabrication, construction and trim research.

·         Strong in Illustrator - Ability to design collections from concept through final samples/production in sketch form

·         Proficient in Photoshop.

·         Understanding of merchandising process.

·         Strong sense of color and ability to create art direction

·         Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.

·         Must be innovative, creative, task-oriented and highly productive.

·         Must thrive in fast paced environment and be capable of working with major retailers across the country

·         Travel to China will be necessary so familiarity with overseas factories is a plus

•    Manage, develop, motivate and oversee all divisions within a territory; by working closely with the rotators and store management
•    Communicate business opportunities and challenges to direct report and Sr. Director Retail Development, as well as, RRR account executives, and store line buying / planning teams in an effort to achieve sales goals.

•    Provide consistent feedback to the HSQ District Manager and direct report to identify challenges and opportunities. 
•    Build and Develop relationships with Macy’s store line management; Sales Manager, Merchandise Manager, District Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store manager and visual team for each RRR Division
•    Communicate weekly with the Sales Managers in each division to review preivous week‘s business and opportunuties to drive sales
•    Prepare weekly recaps to communicate prior week’s business, opportunities, competition and store events, customer requests, as well as, the wants and needs of the business.  


Innovation and Change (i.e. range and diversity of activities, problems, processes, market dynamics and management challenges that need to be recognized and resolved):
•    Work with Macy’s store management to strategize, plan, and execute seasonal event strategies
•    Coordinate and execute contests, special events, and promotions.
•    Develop and build strong relationships with Personal Stylists, as well as, collaborate with them in an effort to build our client base drive sales
•    Schedule monthly trainings and fit parties with sales team and Personal Stylist team to educate them about the fashion delivery that month. 
•    Develop and grow a Rachel Rachel Roy client base to assist in meeting sales goals
•    Learn the Macy’s processes and organizational flow to ensure quick turnaround for all RRR objectives.

People Leadership (i.e. management, motivation and development of staff as well as teamwork):
•    Monitor development of Rotators and motivate them to achieve monthly sales plan
•    Create a partnership with Rachel Rachel Roy merchandise teams
•    Engage, train and motivate sales associates that work in RRR shop to ensure they are familiar with the brand.  
•    Create and maintain departmental notebooks quarterly for each RRR division

Assistant Designer (Knits & Sweaters)

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Senior Designer on seasonal direction of knit line, fabric and yarn development, as well as graphic research.
  • Creates design boards reflecting concept research and ideas for upcoming seasons, including detailed flat sketches and understanding of overarching themes running throughout the line.
  • Maintains knowledge of the line (cut and sew knits and sweater silhouettes, fabrications, trims), keeping information on line sheets up to date, and tracks styles from proto stage through pre-production.

  • Responsible for communicating all fit and design changes from design reviews and fittings to cross functional teams.

Product Manager

The Senior Manager of Technical Design will be responsible for overseeing a team to ensure the products are accurately developed and executed from design concept to fit approval.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage and mentor 7-8 direct reports

·         Train, lead and supervise a team of Technical Designers. Manage TDs vacation time and time off

·         Prioritize and distribute workload between reporting TDs

·         Manage deadlines and workload according to company calendar to ensure timely fit approvals

·         Conduct or supervise all fittings to ensure consistency of fit, style direction and measurements

·         Ensure block patterns/spec standards are established within product category to maintain brand   integrity and size/fit consistency. Ability to approve block patterns based on standard expectations and grade rules

·         Assess team members’ effectiveness in fittings and provide guidance for improved performance

·         Create action plans at all levels for growth and development; address performance concerns

·         Ability to identify and proactively engage business partners when issues arise with recommendations for viable options/solutions

·         Challenge business partners when appropriate to prevent re-work, redundancies, and inefficiency

 

Job Requirements

·         Minimum Education - AA or Certification in Patternmaking, Apparel Manufacturing, or Design

·         10+ year’s technical related experience (0-3 years’ experience in a management role)

·         Expertise in pattern making including grading, construction, and fit for multiple/complex products

·         Knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing methods/process

·         Strong interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written communication skills

Senior Manager of Finance

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Manager (or Director, dependent upon experience) to lead the Financial Planning & Analysis function across the organization (Topson Downs and Rachel Roy), and to deliver thoughtful, strategic analysis and insight into trends, risks, and opportunities. Essential duties and responsibilities include annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, monthly & quarterly management reporting and variance analysis, long-range planning, decision support projects, and other ad hoc analyses.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Executive Team to determine annual goals and targets along with determining business objectives and requirements to achieve such goals
  • Leading the annual budgeting process, aligning goals and targets with financial outcomes for each business unit and the organization as a whole
  • Creation of quarterly financial forecasts; working with business partners to mitigate key risks and identify opportunities; ensuring all risks and opportunities are appropriately communicated to key stakeholders

Desktop Support - Chino

Desktop Support Technician

The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for operating as the primary interface between our warehouse employees and the IT department.  This position will provide support to end-users on a variety of issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems. Contact with customers will be through telephone calls, email and in-person requests for technical support. Will be responsible for documenting, tracking, communicating, and monitoring problems and requests to ensure a timely resolution. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Windows environment tracking and responding to a high-volume of requests is preferred.

Design, Concept, Vision and Inspiration

·         Provide design inspiration and seasonal design direction for RRR brand; design, concept, vision, inspiration, print and color

·         Ensure bulk print fabric yardage is achievable target price point for garment margin requirements

·         Liaise with RR/VP of Merchandising for print vision and print direction for seasonal approval

 

Fabric

·         Oversee selection of all fabric, yarn and trim

·         Manage and direct Fabric R&D Manager

·         Oversee fabric sourcing/development is achievable target price point for garment margin requirements

·         Oversee lab dips and color approvals for proto, duplicate yardage and bulk production fabrications

·         Oversee ordering all proto and duplicate fabric yardage and yarns within calendar deadlines

Garment Fittings

·         Oversee attendance of all proto and bulk garment fittings

·         Partner with Technical Design team to confirm all garment spec measurements, design details, construction and trim for proto garment development

·         Partner with Technical Design team to ensure contemporary garment fit and troubleshoot any fit issues at store level

·         Oversee design follow up and updates from fittings with Design Team; changes need to be reviewed with Merchandising and Sales teams

Leadership Team Responsibilities

Router - Apparel - Chino, CA

POSITION PURPOSE: 

    Support Allocations team in routing apparel orders and other merchandise and coordinating the backhaul responsibilities in the most efficient manner.

     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:  

·        Verifies customers on routes and cube information.

·        Records route information in Microsoft AX system

·        Prepare and print bills of lading for warehouse

·        Follow customers guidelines provided in Routing guide

·        Analyzes costs for prepaid vendors

·        Routes new customers/special deliveries; communicate information to allocations team

·        Insures all trucks have left on time, notifies Retailers/Allocation team if trucks are running late or missed pick up.

·        Calls vendors and confirms order pickups.

·        Collects and process packets from previous day’s backhauls.

·        Files necessary document and stores for required length of time per policies.

·        Closes shipments for daily pick ups

    PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

  • Requesting approved production quality fit yardage and novelty trims from factory or raw material supplier and passing to sample room as needed
  • Facilitating approval process between Design, Tech, Garment Manufacturers, Raw Material Suppliers, and the Customer. Including quality standards, lab dips, strike-offs, etc.
  • Maintaining fabrics from each delivery for current styles and for future reference
  • Keeping approvals and rejections for each style organized for easy reference.
  • Creating trim cards in PLM for each style once orders are issued, and updating as needed
  • Ensuring that BOMs are accurate in PLM and updating as needed
  • Troubleshooting any issues that may affect delivery with Production Manager….i.e. approval resubmits, fabric quality issues, and style changes
  • Troubleshooting any fabric or raw material issues with Design and Fabric Manager
  • Informing Costing Manager of any changes that may have cost implications
  • Ensuring that all fabric and trims pass testing protocol
  • Attending weekly marker meetings to review fit yardage and fit approvals with Tech team
  • Reviewing and handing off AD samples with Design

Development/Costing Duties:

  • Reviewing styles with Design to ensure all nominated materials are passed, and making sure that those details are included in initial costing charts
  • Collaborating with Design to ensure that garments are engineered to cost parameters
  • Costing the line from 1st proto sample
  • Determining retail pricing with Design
  • Sending initial costing charts with targeted LDP pricing to factories that developed styles
  • Reviewing/analyzing costing charts received from factories
  • Requesting counter costing and counter sourcing if initial factories are unable to meet targeted LDP pricing
  • Working with factories to revise fabric/trim if required

Vice President, Ecommerce

Evolve, grow & scale one of the most exciting and branded divisions, consisting of 3 ecommerce sites, of Topson Downs. The successful candidate will be highly entrepreneurial, thrive on collaboration, and possess a holistic and deep understanding of the elements of a profitable e-commerce operation, including site experience, merchandising, content, digital marketing and analytics, client engagement, conversion, and retention, order fulfillment and logistics, and the technical aspects of website management. The role will actively collaborate with cross-functional partners in Retail, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, IT, Distribution and Operations to optimize processes and provide insights that will drive sales across all channels of the company’s 3 ecommerce businesses. With full P&L accountability, the VP, Ecommerce must have a business owner’s mindset, continuously seeking out initiatives that will increase sales and further the Company’s overall strategic direction. This position reports to one of the  Principal/Partner of the Company.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and re-tool existing brand ecommerce teams into a more efficient and higher
performing digital unit. Teams are based both in Los Angeles & New York City.
- Meet financial objectives through annual budget preparation, ongoing forecasting, and results
analysis. Oversee regular reporting of KPIs.
- Achieve sales and margin targets by implementing technical and non-technical strategies and
initiatives that will drive traffic, conversion, retention, revenue, and profitability.
- Oversee digital marketing strategy for owned, earned, and paid channels (e.g., web, email,
affiliate, display, search). Plan and manage digital marketing budget, continuously evaluating
and improving return on investment. Use data analytics to track performance to goals and
benchmarks and identify opportunities for business development across segments of the
Company.
- Partner with Marketing and Content teams to develop, implement, and/or optimize effective
online campaigns, digital marketing, and social media strategies that drive traffic, increase
conversion, and expand sales both online and in-store.
- Maintain effective lines of communication with Design, Wholesale, Content, Merchandising, and Operations teams to ensure brand and messaging alignment.
- Execute the company’s CRM strategy on digital platforms, leveraging data to drive sales and
improve the online customer experience.
- Drive site personalization and segmentation strategy to create a relevant, value-added,
personal, and engaging customer experience.
- Oversee and work to continuously improve customer-focused services, including call-center, live chat, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution. Ensure customer service team delivers a quality service experience consistent with the high standards set in existing retail locations.
- Collaborate with Merchandising and Planning to execute all online merchandising strategies. Ensure online merchandising is supported by best in class features in the areas of
navigation, internal search, product set-up, and activation.
- Oversee day-to-day management of the website, including trouble shooting any errors,
responsive redesigns, and enhancements.
- Interface with the IT department and external product developers on all system-related projects and challenges. Identify and plan for short and long term technical upgrades.
- Actively manage vendor relationships – sourcing new technology, negotiating pricing, setting
strategy for vendors, and regularly monitoring performance.
- Keep up to date with evolving online media and technology trends, and explore new and
effective products or enhancements that will improve site experience and generate revenue and profits.
- Ensure overall financial targets and individual goals are set for all team members; review and
management performance.


SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

Development Technical Designer 

·         At least 3 years experience in technical design (not including internships)

·         Experience with creating detailed tech packs

·         Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel

Production Technical Designer

·         At least 3-5 years experience in technical design in fast fashion.

·         Will measure import samples from proto to 1st fits to TOP's,

·         Check correct construction, fabric, trims & labels,

·         Attend fittings, work closely with designer & pattern makers to ensure correct fit & construction.

·         Communicate & release fit comments/corrections to overseas contractors including making necessary spec & grading changes.

·         Communicate with customer fit techs & interpret customer fit comments.

·         Good understanding of patterns & garment construction, original specs, grading & corrections.

·         Should be proficient with Illustrator, Photoshop, Word and Excel.

·         Ability to multi-task & attention to detail is a MUST.
