Sr. Textile Designer

We are looking for a new Sr. Textile Designer to join the Textile Design department at Topson Downs, to help develop brand enhancing prints for juniors, girls & contemporary.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Design brand enhancing unique, original allover and placement prints at an expert skill level.
  • Must have creativity and passion for designing prints.
  • Prepares detailed artwork, spec/mill sheets and other artwork, such as repeats and dimensional references for factories.
  • Complete understanding of how to color separate.
  • Complete understanding of how placement and border prints need to be set up.
  • Assess style/product limitations with designers and develop product specific art.
  • Create and design custom prints from inspiration and helps to upkeep the print archive seasonally.  


  • College Degree- BS/BA in Apparel/Fashion Design/Textile/Print/Graphic Design

·         5-8 years’ experience no entry level

  • Strong knowledge of fabric & apparel printing methods
  • Strong artistic background & color sense, portfolio a must
  • Hand drawing, painting and sketching a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work & meet deadlines within a fast pace work environment
  • Must be adaptable and flexible with ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency in Illustrator software and Photoshop
  • Proficient in Ned Graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and follow-through skills
  • Excellent ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Retail Brand Ambassador - Rachel Roy

Rachel Rachel Roy is looking for an ambitious outgoing person to be responsible for all divisions of the brand at Macy’s HSQ 34th street.  Primary focus is to meet sales goals by working with clients as well as internal retail staff to build the client base and drive sales at retail.  Strong presence with key members of store management and knowledge to capitalize on opportunities that will grow the business.  Increase product awareness and brand loyalty through strong presentations and education at the store level.  High level exposure to the sales and design teams to communicate the wants and needs of the business

  • Focus on driving sales through setting goals to achieve a plan for the brand within the sportswear, dresses, and curvy divisions.
  • Develop, train, and motivate specialists on the following: client development, product knowledge, selling techniques, merchandising and maintaining the floor.
  • Impact consistency of presentation and standards through coaching sessions with Specialists and through communication with senior store management.
  • Develop and build a RRR client base Macy’s HSQ.  
  • Maintain and assist merchandising selling floor to company standards, floor needs to be ready for business at store opening.
  • Hold monthly training meetings with the staff to excite and introduce them to the new fashion delivery.
  • Hold weekly morning meetings with the specialists to discuss previous weekly numbers, weekend business, best and worst sellers, client development, and any business issues.
  • Hold monthly meetings with store management to discuss business, opportunities and challenges within Macy’s HSQ.
  • Communicate with direct report, VP of Sales, buyers, and planner weekly on any issues or opportunities that may arise.
  • Maintain departmental notebook and discuss with the specialists, ie: business, and any new marketing/advertising information.
  • Prepare weekly recaps to discuss prior week’s business and opportunities. 
  • Establish positive work relationships with store management and associates
  • Create and execute new and exciting ideas to drive business and draw traffic into the store, i.e. contests, selling days.

All Technical Designers

Development Technical Designer 

·         At least 3 years experience in technical design (not including internships)

·         Experience with creating detailed tech packs

·         Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel

·         Excellent garment sketching ability

·         Knowledgeable of detailed garment construction

·         Effectively translate design concepts by creating technical packages with regards to garment specifications

·         Make appropriate recommendations in collaboration with design teams on matters pertaining to specs, pattern, construction methods and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment. 

·         Communicate with our overseas design production

·         PLM experience is a plus

Production Technical Designer

·         At least 3-5 years experience in technical design in fast fashion.

·         Will measure import samples from proto to 1st fits to TOP's,

·         Check correct construction, fabric, trims & labels,

·         Attend fittings, work closely with designer & pattern makers to ensure correct fit & construction.

·         Communicate & release fit comments/corrections to overseas contractors including making necessary spec & grading changes.

·         Communicate with customer fit techs & interpret customer fit comments.

·         Good understanding of patterns & garment construction, original specs, grading & corrections.

·         Should be proficient with Illustrator, Photoshop, Word and Excel.

·         Ability to multi-task & attention to detail is a MUST.

CAD Illustrator/ Graphic Designer


Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Designers, Print Department, Product Managers, Sample Room, and our Factories overseas.
  • Responsible for communicating and sending all artwork and prints to our corresponding factories for development.
  • Reviews, revises and records specifications for changes made during the development process including construction details.
  • Working with major US retailers. 
  • Organization of sketching and graphic libraries.

·         Work with the product development and design team to create exciting artwork year-round.

  • Research market trends through competitive shopping, fashion publications and trend services.
  • Interpret trend, color and graphics forecasts into private brand products.
  • Create concept artwork from original sketches, inspiration photos or purchased products.
  • Translate artwork into vector-based repeats and drawings using Illustrator or Photoshop.
  • Detail all design elements on production art including color standards, print definition, and trim details.
  • Create private brand packaging.
  • Meet artwork deadlines in accordance to production timelines to ensure targeted deliveries.
  • Assist with the creation of trend boards and presentations.
  • Attend concept/product artwork Merchant review meetings.
  • Create line sheets/ decks for presentations.




·         Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, garment sketching, and Illustrator.

·         Strong communications skills and initiative are a must.

·         Capability of working in a fast-paced environment.

·         Experience with print repeats and great color sense.

·         Must have a general knowledge of or interest in the fashion industry.

·         Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects, multitasking with strong and accurate attention to detail.

·         Must be willing to take direction and input; making revisions as necessary.
